Default New Tires for GXP

I know this is a somewhat common thread topic, however instead of piggybacking or digging up old threads I submit to all of you, yet another tire thread. I'm in the market for a new set for my GXP, the previous owner had the factory tires replaced with 245/45zr18'*, which I think look much better (lower profile) and I'm sure handle a little better. The only trade off is speedometer inaccuracy (only 1 mph at 60 mph). So my questions are, should I go back to stock tire sizing or stay with the 245'*? Secondly what do you all think of these?

Advice and opinions appreciated.

They are a bit pricey overall, but nice treadwear rating. I don't like the large area in the wheelwell with the 50 footprint, I assume the 45 leaves more empty space. I'd watch the strut mud collar that almost hits the 50/235. if you went 50/245 it may rub. I'd like to know though, I've often thought of going up a notch in width. I'm on my second set of gForceKDWS (fronts) myself. Love the tire.

245/50/18 is pricey as hell and very little selection. (already looked last year when i bought my GXP wheels)

i believe at 60mph you will be low with the 245/45/18'* so speedo says 60 you are really doing 58.7MPH best tires i have used on mine so far are BFG G-Force KDWS they are fairly good all the way around the year but have light snow they will grip better if i was going through 4-6" of snow and they wear out quick on the edges with high speed cornering

Its a nice tire...I recently put those exact tires on a Honda Prelude...they handle very nicely on dry pavement

Those look awesome, if I wasn't really needing a good set of all-seasons I'd be all over the Indy 500'*. I really wish I had an extra set of wheels and the funds to have two sets of tires, instead of the compromise that is all-seasons.

Why I like the gforce KDWS. I admit they haven the best wear rating, but a great deep "street style" that works awesome at laying power to the pavement, cornering, rain, and snow. I guess you cant have it all and good tread ratings. It'* softer conmpound gives it it'* great characteristics.

I have the P-Zero Nero with the stock size. I have also run the KDWS with no problems.

I'm looking to change my tires out as well. I only have 24k on the factory tires, but they seem to be dry roting and don't ride as good as it did. I'm looking at the Michelin Pilots MXM4'* in the stock size. I got prices of $847 with protection plan from Belle and $848 from Discount. The factory RSA'a still have a lot of tread, but they also don't grip the way they used to especially in the snow. Hoping the Michelins work out well when I finally get around to changing them out.
