Cluster Issue with pics (updated)
Last week I launched pretty hard with a full tank of Gas. I later noticed the dial past full resting on the dash. since then it hasn't worked right. It is covered by Warranty but im wondering if the gauge is separate from the cluster (is it something i can order and replace) with out having GM do it ???
Oh and Just to let ya'll know i have so far gotten 710kms from this tank of fuel lol

Its very possible your fuel sender failed...that is does the gauge STAY at full even after you turn it off?
If it stays on after you turn the car off its probably the cluster...if its stuck on full it may be the sending unit.

it differs Hans sometimes it works others it doesnt. And like i mentioned i launched pretty hard and i believe i stripped the pin....
If it were the sending unit the DIC wouldn't be dead on would it ?

ell it turns out it is the Cluster i forgot the PT# but the cost almost made me jump for joy (having a warranty) $897.59 plus 14% tax for a grand total of $1023.25 plus install lol
all this for a fuel gauge
all this for a fuel gauge

Ummmmmmmm..... WTF. Man......tough call Eh? I would say the float is stuck, it may just need a nudge. Just what does the gauge do when the rest do the initial sweep? If it moves any, the gauge cant be stuck or stripped, and if the pin were stripped, it seems it would fall to empty. That price must be for th entire cluster no???? What a predicument. Definately time to go see Mr Goodwretch.

Oh for sure i went this morning and they pulled the sending unit tested good..
they ARE replacing the whole cluster at that cost to them hehehe
i thought tho that they could just fix the gas gauge but it isn't like that..
BTW i found a second cluster for 150.00 to do my LED swap with

Hard to believe a hard launch could screw the gauge up isnt it. Dam. Reminding self not to launch with a full tank. Hard to believe they have to replace the entire cluster x2. Ridiculous isnt it.
