How'* your trans acting? How'* the fluid look?
If no transmission troubles and the fluid looks a good red and no burnt smell (or maybe a slight hint of brown), go ahead and change it without worry.
If you're having severe slippage / shift problems or the fluid'* badly cooked (especially with black particles), don't bother, trans is nearly dead anyway.
If somewhere in between, it'* your call.

You should have done it at least twice by now. I changed my filter and pan fluid a few months back, at 30K. The following week I took it in for to have all the fluid fully flushed.
To my surprise magnet in the pan looked 100x'* better then the pan magnet in my truck with the same mileage. When I did this service to my truck I did it the other way, having it flushed first then I changed the filter 1K miles later myself. The magnet was pretty ugly compared to the Bonnie'*
Here'* what the magnet in the truck looked like at 31K and after having the fluid flushed at 30K. The magnet in the Bonneville was really clean (sorry no picture)

Please put it in your signature for future reference.
You have the 4T80E fyi.
It is a good rule of thumb to make it a habit to have your transmission'* filter changed and it be flushed every 30,000 miles. Mine only has 37k and already is acting up because I haven't done it.
On a side note, jees, i remember when the GXPs first came out..and now they're already getting near the 100s

Is anyone draining the pan some by pumping out thought the dipstick tube or cooler line
to reduce the amount of ATF in the pan before removing it (less of a mess ) ?
Adding a bottle of Lubegard Red at the refill seems to make the ATF last a little longer . Many transmission shops use it when they install their rebuilds . It is not a magic fix or substitute for regular maintenance. Also, adding an inline filter ( such as the Magnafine available at Automatic Transmission Parts & Transmission Coolers, Makco Distributing ) is not a bad idea ( Webshots - Full Size Photo) either but remember that it has to be changed on a regular basis .
-Thanks
