Can you describe exactly what you mean by "going out"? Did it just quit, did you hear a pop through your speakers and it died, is it intermittent?

onstar unit not working
It just went out. When I get in the car it says " phone not working". I have contacted onstar and they said it needs to go to the shop. I was just wondering if this was going to be another one of those problems that came with the car.

There has been the odd reported problem but not overly common.
Once in a while I'll hear a pop in the speakers, lose my call but then it will be okay again. I only started to notice this after the dealer upgraded my analog module to dual mode. The dual mode are made by Continental, whereas the original analog one I had was Motorola. Don't know for sure if this has anything to do with it or not. Motorola is generally more expensive but often more bullet proof than others.

Have you had the conversion done? I had to have mine switched from analog to digital which even resulted in a new phone number.
