A 650-horsepower version of that same engine went on to win the 1997 Indy 500, marking the first time the same engine design had both paced and won at Indy.
Very interesting.

"The Aurora'* standard 250-horsepower, 4.0L V-8 engine meant the car needed no performance modifications." I like this one too.

At the bottom of the 442.com engine page they have specs for both engines. Notice they increased the bore and shortened the stroke. That and camshaft + a valve train to support 10,500 RPM . 13 - 15.1 comp. wow ! Methanol must be good stuff.

Was there a 4 litre limit for the engines ? I ask because Im wondering if thats why the Aurora engine not the bigger Northstar.

Apparently the 4.0L is not really a Northstar in the same way Northstar is for Cadillac. The 4.0L Aurora V8 :?

Sounds like my car...almost

The Aurora will have white diamond metallic paint with black and gold highlights (sounds like the performance colors of about 28 yrs. ago) with Indy 500 graphics. A power sunroof, 3.71:1 transaxle ratio (included with the Aurora'* optional Autobahn package), chrome plated aluminum alloy wheels and Goodyear Eagle P235/60R16 tires rated for sustained 150 mph speed. The non-stock items that will be installed are those mandated by USAC which include a roll bar and a five-point safety harness for the driver and passenger.

L27 is 8.5 the others are either 9 or 9.5. Keep in mind this is before the blower, which significanly raises it.

I beleive
LN3-C - 8.5
L27 - - -8.5
L67 I -- 8.5 ? not sure on this one
L36 - - -9.3
L67 II - 8.5

I checked "techinfo" on this quickly and didnt fine engine spec. but they got to be there somewhere. I just scearched "specifications". Try engines bet that will work. edit : didnt work no specs for compression.

Jr3800 knows.
