Yesterday I found this digging around in GM Insider News...........GXP is a limited production run. The 2004 mid year GXP introduction was a total planned production run of 2500 cars. The latest GM numbers were below that by about 300 cars. The 2005 GXP run is only supposed to be 5000 cars..............Still searching for more of a breakdown but thats a little tidbit of info. At 2200 the 04 GXP is a very limited production run. Keep it Shiny cballweg and ya might get enough for a " world cruise " when ya retire Parts for the GXP are going to be a bitch to be had in the coming years with only that many made. I think maybe I'll put mine in my living room and buy that Hyundai after all.

Thanks for the info GXP.Thats one of the raesons I bought mine and the V8 and the ride mostly.I always liked having a car that not to many people had and you didnt see on the road very often.Thats why I bought the 1998 Daytona Pace car Grand Prix which they only made a limited run of 1500 and the Ram Air Trans Am which not that many were made in 1999 but made more the following yaers and my 1969 GTO Judge was rare at only a little over 6000 made .I had to drive my fathers 2004 Deville since he is getting old and had a bypass so I drove him to the doctor and I really liked the way it rode with the level ride and for a big car it handled better than I thought it would but I wasnt ready for a Caddy yet so I drove the GXP since I heard about the Nothstar in them and I liked the power it had in my fathers Deville. The GXP ride is very close to the Deville but it handles better maybe because of the low profile tires on the GXP but ride is not quite as soft as the Deville maybe again because of the tires and probably has stiffer anti sway bars for handling.I just wish it had a little more power.I dont drive my other cars very much anymore, only 500 to 1000 miles a yaer because the GXPs ride spoiled me.I guess Im getting old.I never cared about a good riding car before but Im over 50 now and enjoy the smooth ride.I did look into a new GTO also but I liked the looks of my Trans Am better and didnt need another car like that.Needed something to go to work in the winter snow here in Ohio.

Had I been able to find a mint like new 1995 to 1999 Aurora I would have never gotten a GXP. I just picked up a nice 96 Aurora so who knows how long the GXP will stay around. yes I hardley even see any Bonneville GXPs and people always stop me in parking lots to ask what model car this is and how much they like it.

One of the things I didnt like was the painted rims which I quickley got chromed. The same with the new GTOs but you could buy chrome rims for the GTO I think through the dealer but not the GXP and the cheaper model SLEs you could get the chrome rims.Doesnt make sense to me when you can get chrome rims on sunfires,G6,Grand Prixs, etc.Another thing I dont understand is why they didnt use the Seville 300HP motor when Dodge is using 350HP hemis and 425HP hemis in some of their bigger cars like the 300M and Chargers..GM needs to get on the ball hereI.ve always bought GM and probably always will but they are lagging behind here performance wise and need to change their attitude.Probably why Dodge is doing good in sales and GM is slipping. Some of GMs styling doesnt impress me either on some models..

The L37 would have been a better choice for our car but N* seems to always tune down Hp before it goes to another division. Olds got a smaller bore, and we got a smaller cam version of it. .I guess it'* economics with GM suffering it'* worse losses in 05. More standard GM V8'* came available in models and our LDB made it'* way to Buick. The 440 HP 4.4L N* is nothing short of incredible. And a V12 N* has been made putting out 750Hp and I wonder what the hell are they gonna put that in?? it is basically the same size as ours. I just cant fathom 750 Hp in a street car.

My painted rims were a dissapointment and for alot less than the $350 a wheel, I got some nice chrome shoes. Guess I'll use em in winter. But I see alot of painted aluminum wheels on other makers cars also.

I get asked just what it is all the time too. The only place on my car that says Bonneville is the smal indent letters in the one headlite. And I had new STS Northstar badges put on next to the GXP on the doors with paint job and it seems to get as many questions All in all I'm happy with it. It could have used a little more ummph but still it a smooth riding full size with a sporty growl and only one other one in my area spotted.

Yea,I didnt like that it didnt have a Northstar badge on it like my fathers Deville had on the trunk lid so I installed one on the right side of the trunk lid where it said V8 and put the V8 under the Bonneville emblem n the trunklid and installed a GXP door emblem below the spoiler on the trunk lid in the middle of the trunk lid.

Glad to see someone else felt shafted.....I spent about 15 minutes with a salesman going over the car before he said the V8 was a Northstar and the first thing I asked afterwards was...where the hell is the N* emblem.

The reason our GXPs only have the 275 N* has to have been a Caddilac thing. The division was lucky enough to lose one of it exclusive engines but not the top one thats for sure. All in all I am okay with it. Drove a 06 SS with the 303 hp 5.3 engine and while I think it will blow away my GXP it had alot more torque steer...much like a supercharged 3800. Dont get me wrong I love the low end power but I dont like fighting with the wheel to get it to the ground.
