I am totally new to my GXP, so I dont know if this hestation is normal. Going about 65 and punch it, the rpms reve up to about 5k, and it takes a little bit of time to kick in about a second or 2. Even though the RPMS are rising. Is that normal for a gxp my 95 i hit it, it shifts down and takes off.

Mine responds immediatey and so much so that I find I'm at 85-90 before I can feel it (thanks to the awesome suspension). I'll pay attention next time to see if there is a pause.

oh i see what your saying. Look at the speedo instead of feeling it. I didnt do that I beleive I was just going off feel. the rpms will rise then about a second later it starts pulling.

I notice the same thing with mine. Usually happens when I have it on cruise and punch it. If I ease into it for a few seconds and then punch it, it doesn't happen.

Bonneville'* ,in general, are new to me so I don't know if it'* normal or not.

Yes at that speed the shift is rather smooth. For those who arent aware. The engine and tranny go through a "learn procedure" If you boughtt the car used, they both have learned to respond to another driver. If you are one who is always quick off the line and hold torque against the tranny through the gears, I would disconnect one of the battery terminals, reset the learn procedure and start fresh.

VENOM where you been buddy. Yes I did do that as you said. So if i have torque on it all the time what will it do? I mean What if i didnt torque on it ever what effect would that give me? A sluggish bonneville?

Have had a death in the family Vince and as Executor, I am overwhemled with not just my GreatAunt'* passing but the responsibilities as executor are new to me. I dont think it will give you a sluggish GXP, but I do think the car will shift and run a little better if it aquires data from the person who is now driving it and how they drive. The suspension is such that You just dont get the throwback you are use to as you hit passing, it doesnt mean it isnt going. The front end is an F5 designate and only on the GXP. In GM'* words the design came right off an formula racer. It is specific to the GXP. It is also a reason I keep thinking of taking my air hydraulics out and putting the stock suspension back under it. Slamming it to the ground when in town and raising it up high out here in the mud and snow is cool, But I noticed the negative aspects of comfort and handling immidiately when I did the switch.
