Glueing wouldn't allow it to go into the notches right, if at all. How are you using the shifter right now. I'll wait for Pat to chime in here, I'm not sure about shifters and hope mine stays intact.

Well i can just stick it back in and it works great, but once i let my thumb off it, it falls to the floor!!! Looks like the "hook" is broke at the tip.... But I just located some info about this part that i think we all may like.... Its a GM parts book and if it is a "shifter retainer" # 34 then it'* only $1.98...

Im still looking for a GXP shifter.... I came across a real 2005 GXP Shifter on ebay 2 weeks ago, but to me it looks like it could break soon also and for $60 i would be pissed if it broke!! So Anyone have any leads on a good used one? Im going to pick up a 2000 and up type shifter to use till i can get a GXP one b/c this rubber band thing around the shifter is just not working out... lol

So i called the dealership (toyota) and it'* not covered under my extended warranty.. So today i was at the local LKQ (u-pull) yard getting stuff and seen a 2000 Impala with black shift ****.. Got it, Cleaned it and put it on the GXP and it fit perfect!! Cost was only $1.99 for the shift **** too!
