Default De Carbon shocks/struts

Just wondering if anyone knows this. I read a lot of articles touting the use of de carbon dampers/shocks/struts on the GXP, but I can't figure out if they used them on all 4 corners or just the back. If not, what did they use in the front?

Thanks!

They wouldn't use them on the back because we have a rear air ride suspension. They are just air shocks. The front are McPherson struts. Dont know where you are getting "all" these articles. Got any links? I did read an article about them, but it was the concept car. Trying to remember where I read the Mcpherson struts. Pat (93SLE) stated the rears were decarbon. They look like run of the mill Delco airstruts to me.

Edited: My bad. The article I read Mcpherson was an early one of the concept. The GXP does have all corner de carbon suspension.

Thanks!

Wonder what the lifespan is on the fronts? I am coming up on 7 years and 80000 miles. Doesn't feel quite as tight as it could. Would go with a Koni or Bilstein, cept there ain't none available for our cars. :(

From the reading from my dig today, 60,000k is average lifespan. One of few downsides of decarbon is lifespan. I put 38k of my 48k with airstruts on the front while my OEM "rested" on a shelf in my shed so I should be good for some time. RockAuto has the KYB GR2'* that I hear some great things about. Twin stainless tubes with a little extra dampening force over OEM to compensate for wear on other parts of the suspension. And just a couple dollars over SensaTracs. https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,c...8Y%2529%2BDOHC

Thanks again. Great information.
I can't say mine feel bad, but the damping in the front end doesn't feel quick like it should be. Are the de Carbons even available anymore? I guess by law they have to be. Maybe need to call GM parts Direct or someplace to see what the cost is on them.
Will have a look at the GR2'* also. Interesting about the twin stainless steel tubes.

Rockauto has the OEM FE5 strut, but they want twice the money. So I imagine you'd add an extra arm or leg for their price. The FE5 comes on alot of vehicles since the GXP. Cobalt, Impala, and even the HHR come with FE5 with the SS packages.
