I've heard the horror stories about the motor mounts. I have'nt had a problem (yet) with mine. I do have a few leaks, will look when I change oil in June. You may just need to tighten the pan/valve cover gaskets. Worth a try before shelling out $2500.

So I took my car into a mechanic who was recommended by a friend who is a mechanic who didn’t want to tackle the job.

I was given a quote of $1500 taxes in to change the front engine mount, valve cover gaskets and oil pan gaskets. Seemed like a great deal considering other quote came close to $2000 with only the rear valve cover gasket.

Of course the plot thickens……….When they were doing work taking off the oil pan one of the bolts broke as they were loosening it. This in turn cause them to have to pull the engine and now take it all apart and re seal the whole thing. They also found a few other minor leaks from the oil line connectors.

The garage had my car for a total of 7 working days but still only charged me 9.8 hours labor. The parts here in Canada are way over priced so I ended up paying 1269.43 for the parts and 833.00 for labor for a grand total of 2354.72 with the tax.

Here is the list of parts…….I included parts numbers in case someone ever needed to do a similar job. GM Parts Direct is a fraction of the price of what I paid.

Valve Cover Gasket Set (FEL-VS50526R), Front Engine Mount (25759455), Oil Pressure Switch (SMP PS-276), Exhaust Gasket (21992620), Front Seal Gasket Set (FEL TCS 46013), Exhaust Donut Gasket (164755, Rear Main Crank Seal (12568025), Upper Crank Case Seals (12573933), Oil Pan to Upper Crank Case Manifold/Gasket (12581822), Main Crank Cap Bolt/Stud (3542311), Main Crank Cap Bolts (3542310), Oil Cooler Line Connectors (15719697), Oil Filter Housing Gasket (12573044), Throttle Body Base Gasket (FEL 61125), Intake Manifold Gaskets (FEL MS93313).

The good news is that the car is back to running quiet with no more oil leaks. Hopefully there will be no more in the short term.

should have had them do the rear engine mount while they were doing all that, if the giant rubber blob that is our front engine mount in our GXP'* was toast on your engine it put added stress on the rear one, most likely ripping the studs from the rubber.
I'd recommend getting that one done and having the tranny mount checked at the same time......
I did pretty much everything you listed above here in the U.*. last summer, but for that price, I also got both head gaskets replaced, the exhaust(from converter to the back)(factory).... minus the mount since I had done both front and rear mounts in the spring....
My engine had 148k miles on it though when I did all that, and now I have 163k on it. No engine issues, but my electrical has gone to crap in recent weeks....lol
