I had XM for about a year, and loved it... then I got sirius and loved it even better. Sirius seems so much more laid back Sirius FTW!

Default XM, baby

I've been an XM subscriber for more than three - or four years. Four, I think. With the OEM XM in my GXP, I listen to it WAY more than I did in my previous car. XM has much better technology for signal continuity; Sirius has .. better programming? Matter of taste. XM has AWESOME comedy channels.

You all know that they're merging, right? And launching new satellites?

I have been hearing about this merger for a long time. For a 2006 Halloween costume contest, I went as a pimp, and I won a Samsung XM player. I haven't hooked it up yet because I don't want to subscribe to XM right now. It is a fancy XM player, though. It'll even record the music straight onto itself!

This merger should prove interesting. I received some form of communique from XM which stated this will not have any effect in Canada. Apparently here there is some sort of holding company that has an agreement to provide us with service. Not quite sure I understand this because if their source in the US changes, I would expect the delivered product to as well. Personally, I was looking forward to a change since I prefer Sirius programming and hope to see more that is similar on my XM box.

XM in Canada is a separate company that isn't part of the merger. However, since XM and Sirius' content will be merged (and then pushed out over XM'* satellites) it would seem only reasonable to expect that the XM Canada content would adjust, given that XM'* stream to XM Canada will change.
