Default Homemade dynamat?

Is it possible to bake up some of your own dynamat? I don't want to spend all of the money on it. I just am looking for something to cover up the back decklid and the trunk lid to stop some of the vibrations coming from there. Is there anything that is a good substitute for dynamat? I would like to know a little more about this.

I cant really give very many specifics on this stuff as ive never tried it or even seen what the stuff looks like. Just go to ur local hardware store and look for something that is dense, with some give and something that isnt too thick, for cosmetic purposes

theres a rubberized self adhesive aluminum foil backed roofing material called peel and seal and it does work. look at lowes or menards for it.

The trunk kit from Dynamat is $130.. so keep that in mind when you price it out. If the 'alternative' is $75, and it is only 40% as effective, then you can see the cost may outweigh the benefits. Remember, you get what you pay for .
