When the tape deck dies...
..is there anyway to "bring it back?" lol
I usually used my tape deck for the adapter to my mp3 player. A while ago it just stopped working and all i get is a constant 'clicking' sound if i put a tape in...it also makes it hard for me to get the tape out {luckily its attached to a cord}. So anyway, is there anything I can do to fix the tape deck, or is it a lost cause?
I really prefer to use the tape deck over the FM Transmitter b/c the sound quality is better, IMO.

i actually just had the identical thing happen to me, a matter of minutes ago. Was driving, iPod + sony tape adapter, all of a sudden the music stopped and the tape deck started clicking like it was trying to skip sides of the tape, but wouldn't. i had to pry it out with my pocketknife and now, with no tape in it, it won't even go back to the radio function. it still thinks the tape is in there. is there hope for us?

yup, same prob I had. To get back to the radio i think u gotta hit the "ST-PL" button or something....whatever button stops playing the type {as if one was on there} and allows you to go back to the radio. Then you'll probably see ST TAPE on ur radio forever and forever lol...unless someone comes along with help soon

so basically its a lost cause....
Though I do have a 6-CD changer to be installed shortly, I still wanna be able to use my mp3 player when I want to as well. So what'* the suggestion for the best device in quality and sound to allow me to connect my mp3 to my car? {I did use an FM Transmitter before and didn't like it...and of course, the tape adapter is out at this point lol}
