Each voice coil are 2ohm so in parallel it would be a 1ohm load.

if you want brand new subs with a warranty go retail, other wise your throwing your money away. It might be brand new with a warranty, but there are other sources that you can go to, to find equal quality subs for a 1/4 of the price. e-bay usually has less expensive options, but I usually talk to guys in the neighbourhood to see who is buying and selling. I just sold a friend 2 12" MTX thunder 6000'* and a pair of 10" thunder 8000'* for $100, they weren't brand new, and one subs cone was replaced but they sound amazing. If your not concerned about using used or repaired subs then usually word of mouth is the best way to find cheap good sounding subs. As for a good sounding 12" sub, I just got rid of a MTX MZC 1204 for $50 that sounded really good. But when it comes down to it, it'* really just personal preference.
