Hey yall. I want to replace the HU in my ride. Can I continue to use the factory surround, or do I need to plan for a full swap out. I have the stereo with the little slidey thing for the bass. For what it is, it hits pretty good, but I want more. I was thinking of going with line levels off the 6x9'*. When I owned a 2000SSEi, I did that and noticed that the DEEP bass was being cut off. Other than the steering wheel controls not working, is there any disadvantages to pulling the factory HU. Does the factory surround hook up to an aftermarket HU ?
