Decent Projectors?
Hey just wondering from the lighting experts if these projectors on my car seem to be pretty decent at night. They seem to have a pretty good cut-off point and they're really bright, but nobody ever flashes me. It'* just odd that they don't ahve that color-change that many projectors have at the very tip of the cut-off. What do you think?

projector pictures are normally taken at 25 feet. Just to give you an idea on what you see with most pictures out there.
They look normal for stock GM projectors.
The color that you see is the light bending around the cutoff shield, which is very rarely found with halogen projectors.
An advantage you have, if you wanted to switch to HID projectors almost everything is there for you already. At which point I would suggest fitting the stock halogen projectors into your fog'* for bad weather.

oh wow. In that case then, they really SUCK compared to HID projectors. At 25 feet the cutoff gets very sloppy.. Now that you mention it, the cut-off on HID Projectors is a lot more precise and crisp than the halogens. The halogens are pretty bright though, especially with the 9005 bulbs in them. I think for all intents and purposes, it wouldn't be worth it for me to upgrade to HID'*. These are really pretty bright as-is now. Hmmm. decisions decisions.
Either way, I was really impressed with the increase in light output compared to regular halogen housings. It'* too bad other cars didn't get the projectors. (like the 2000+ Bonneville)

they dont suck that bad, I would prefer them over regular reflectors.
Another thing, a bunch of the cut off pictures that you see VERY sharp cut offs, the projectors are actually modded to get a cut off that sharp. There are a lot of factors that play into color, cutoff sharpness, and light diffusion. One of the biggest being the type of lense, clear lenses are the best but as of 06 vehicles no OEM HID projectors comes with them, making them very rare and getting rarer (which makes them very expensive). Other lenses are freshnel, dimpled, frosted, etc. The other big difference is the actual projector itself. In general terms, you can get a SHARP cut off and less color(the color you get may be stronger but less of it) OR you get COLOR and a "fuzzy" cut off. OEM projectors are going towards this direction in a way. Less color, less cut off, to reduce complaints of the color/bright flicker when they are behind or on comming.
