Default iPod or Satellite Radio Mount

How do you guys have your iPod or Satellite Radio mounted? I'm looking for ideas.

I have the Pioneer headunit with the adapter, but it is just sitting on my seat.

I was thinking about drilling through the shifter and into the arm rest box and through the cup holder, then letting the iPod rest in the cup holder. I have a leather case for the iPod that is a pain to take off, but it seems like it would be a good idea since I can put it away when I am not using it.

Any thoughts about that or any cool place to mount an iPod?

That was also a place I was looking at, but I've got it in the leather case and I didn't know if it would fit in most mounters with the extra thickness.

With the case you wont get it in most holders. A universal one might be your best bet, and then you could adjust it wider perhaps?

I bought one, they carry it at best buy, it has the "adjustable wings" so you can fit different devices, However i've contemplated a new setup since i don't need to see the unit when my alpine is running it.
