rear deck brainstorm
Before you jump on my case for not even having a car to drive, I KNOW. Its brainstorm time LOL.
As many of you know I have a set of CDT 6.5" comps for up front and have a sub that was used for less than a week before I was hit. anywho:
I have the sub and fronts which for the most part is a seemless system due to the quality of both but I have been thinking for the rear deck some mid-woofers would be fun....
I would need a new/another amp but these have a good rep and would be kind of cool to plop in the rear deck

Thoughts?

It would all depend how it sounded. 500 may be a little high, I would have to see how they fit my listening style.

If my audio deficient brain is seeing this properly, you'd be using the trunk as the "box"?
Giving you a bit of mid punch right into the cabin? hmmm I likey.

Although building a small box and enclosing the woofer on the rear deck could prove to increase output and low freq response.
Looking for a small sub bill?

i also think that 500hz might be a bit high..
IMO, i do not like midbass behind me.. Once vocals start coming out of the rear i start to dislike how it sounds, you may run into SQ problems even running 50-150hz.
Unless you plan on having highs in the rear as well, i think this will have a large negative impact on your SQ. because you will have only part of the mids-highs in the rear and not a full effect. The reason that Subs sound just fine behind you is because the lower the frequency, the less directional the sound waves become. Your also not generally listening to long low notes, which helps blend the sound so it doesnt sound so far behind you

i would be weary of anything over 120hz myself.... however a nice fill up to 150 could potentially help tremendously in some music, but sound like *** in some songs, im sure you know this by playing with LPF settings. having them on a switch might be the best way to go just because of the huge variances in music

I see where you are comming from. It could prove to be an aid or hurtful.
From a different point of view....could they be mounted near/in the front and prove to useful?
If I mounted them in the door panels would they be powered by the front channel or the rear channel?
