Default Universal code for factory stereo?

The fire department disconected my battery when I got into the accident a couple weeks ago.

This, unfortunately, puts on the anti theft "LOC" on the stereo.

The car had the battery disconnected when I got it, and I paid a Chevy dealer $70.00 to "reset" it. (my mother-in-law didn't have the code).

I don't feel like paying again, is there a universal code? Or a way to get the code with the VIN?

I thought dealers would give you the code if you gave them your vin number. If that doesn't work you could try calling Pontiac and giving them your vin number to get the code. Write it down this time.

The dealer told me they had to remove it, and reset it. I guess that was bull sh@t.

I'll call them, thanks.

Come to think of it, you may need the number off the back of the radio, which you can do yourself. Pulling the radio requires about 1.5 minutes and a screwdriver.

yes double post I know:

here is something else you can try.

** Theftlock Bypass
1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3
digits of the display code are displayed.

2. Write the numbers down.

3. Press the AM/FM button, write down the next 3 numbers.

4. Call 1 800 xxx xxxx, listen to the whole message carefully, when asked, enter 206010, press the # button and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.

5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press MIN button and set the next two last numbers, press AM/FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio."

I followed the instructions- but the dealer code (202107) was invalid.

Is there another one?

Yeah, I just bought a $26,000 Equinox from them, they should at least throw me a bone with the code!
