Front 6x9'*??
How hard would it be to modify a 5 1/4 opening to accept a 6x9 speaker, i was thinking maybe just cut it out and then use the grill that comes with the 6x9'* to hide the cutting. I've heard the Infinity Gold sound system in a Jeep grand cherokee, and it has 6x9'* in the front doors, and it blows any aftermarket system i have ever heard, right out of the water in terms of the quality of the reproduction.
I'm going to do some research on this, because that seems like best way to get a very nice front soundstage, since no one makes kick panels for our cars. They make them for everything else, just not us...............
Anyways, if i actually do this, i'll be sure to post the results and detailed info if it works out and doesn't look like a kid did it....

Be easier to make it fit some 6 1/2'* in there instead, better sound quality.

Don't bother trying to fit 6x9s in the front doors, get yourself some GOOD componets either 5 1/4 or 6 1/2'* will get the job done. I'd recomend the 6 1/2'* if you can get them to fit.
You will get more accurate sound out of a round speaker than an oval one.
Here'* my rear fill 6 1/2s in a 6x9 opening.
6.5 componets Boston Pro series, crossovers are hidden, attached to inside of rear deck.

6x9'* won't fit without cutting sheetmetal. 5 1/4" is the standard size in the door. I'd have to agree with TaylorD on the recommendation of HIGH quality components (Though I don't know about those Quarts  kidding)
If your looking for a quick replacement yourself go to www.crutchfield.com.
Otherwise I'd go to my local dealer (of car audio that is) and give some some drivers a listen.

Well i already have Infinity components in the front, they don't have the bass i want. There freq. response is like 75hz or something. It'* not good enough for me. I want something around 50hz or less, and 6x9'* can do it easily. I also like the sound out of the jeep grand cherokee with the infinity system, and they use front 6x9'* with component tweeters, and there is an incredible sound stage up front.

It'* all in the setup, maybe you should shield behind the speakers, remember that those infinity speakers are amped, it soundsl ike you are just running off a deck. If you amped them, you'd sing!
