Stock Radio Error Codes
Anyone know what error code 23 is? My stock CD player would say that periodically. It also skipped really bad. That'* why I replaced it. But anyhow, I want to get it back on the road so I can put it into another car.
I also figured out how to add an auxillary input after taking my unit apart. I sorta wonder if it is the CD player (which is isolated from the rest of the electronics internally) that is the problem, and if I could maybe just switch that particular component out.
That code would be nice to know, though, so I could figure out exactly what was going on.

I've looked into component switching before, never figured it out.
Can we get a how-to on the input adding?
Your avitar, looks suspiciously familiar... I swear I didn't get the idea from you, I swear...

LOL...yeah, the avitar deal...I actually put my pic on after you did. I didn't know any one had that though until a few days ago when I was looking at one of your posts! I just sorta thought that'd be neat, mostly cause it'd be unique...guess I was wrong, LOL.
I'm working on the best way to input audio into the factory Delco AM/FM/CD player unit. When I figure out the best way, I'll let you all know.

I didn't put it there until a few days ago. Then I saw yours and realized I'd seen it before, so I think you had it first.
The aux input idea is very intriguing to me.

i used to get a E 23 on mine. CDplayer is out of a 97 bonneville. i got rid of the problem totally by disassembling the cd player and cleaning the lense with alchohol. i would get the problem immediatly after inserting a disc. it would then eject it out.

I've got a Delco CD player here I put an auxillary input onto, and am wondering if anyone is interested in purchasing it. It works like a charm, except that ER 23. It plays CD'* over 90% of the time, then can get bucky occasionally. Anyhow, if you switched out (or cleaned) the CD player unit, it would be pretty sweet. And it would have that external input.
If anyone would like it, I'd prolly ask 20 bucks (for parts & time I put into it, negotiable, I suppose) plus shipping to 50014 (iowa).
