Help! 12-Discs Stuck in 2000 SSEI
Hello,
Any ideas on how to get a non-responsive disc changer cartridge to come out? I've opened the door and closed it about 30 times. I'm really getting sad. It won't play either. I get a disc error message. I've tried gentle coaxing with pressure. Mine is located in the trunk.
Do I have to go to the dealer to deal with this?
ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated. I love troubleshooting. Can I somehow remove this entire thing to mess with it and get my CDs out if it'* dead?
Happy driving,
Leigh

Leigh, please put the year and model of your car in your signature line (User CP at the top of this page, Edit signature in the menu on the page that opens) so we know how to answer your question. I don't have a 12 disk changer, but I am sure someone that does will jump in here and give you some suggestions.

i had mine get jammed when i hit a chug hole and it would not respond eject or anything but try to play the now broken cd i took the changer out of the trunk took the metal surround cover off and after getting the disc to slide back into the cartidge i was able to hit the release on the magazine to get it out however the changer was destroyed from the bump so yes you can get it out manually jsut would not recomend putting it back in till you know what has caused the problem
