steering wheel controls
I just got a new radio for my 95 and wanted to use the remote input on it so i got the SWI-JACK for my Kenwood,,, Excelon KDC-X693 but I cant seem to figure out what wire to use, there are 3 that I have no idea on, a dark green, a light green, and a tan colored one, when I hooked up on of them I think it was tan the display went out on my climate control unit, and the other 2 wires dident seem to do anything, my question is which wire is it supposed to be and should I tear apart the steering wheel controls and clean/rebuild them?

sorry to bring back what seems to be a dead thread but does anyone have any info on the Radio wiring harness on the '95 bonnie? that SWI-JACK seems to have been waste of money unless I can get the steering wheel controls working with it.

I apologize for the lack of response to your question. What wires are you asking about? The wires on the piece you bought? Or the right wire to tap into in your car? I will be looking for your response so I can answer you as quickly as possible

are all of the speakers hooked up? If I am not mistaken, the light and dark green wires should be the + and - wires for the right front speaker. the tan should be the left front speaker + wire. I will look around and see if I can find any other wires that you could also be finding. Do you know if the previous owner re-ran all of the speaker wires?

all my speakers are hooked up, using the original wireing, but I have 3 left over that I cant figuer out what they are for, I should have run new wireing for the fronts as the originals were cut almost back to the door frame but they are wired up, including the antenna and the dimming.

Don't know if its the same as the F-Bodies I've had... I would expect them to be... but I believe Lt. Green is the one for the steering wheel controls. I'll see if I can find the info and will let you know later!

I have figured out the 20 pin connector with the exception of 1 wire: It is dark green & labeled PLT. However there is another seperate connection coming into the unit below the 20 pin connector. It is a 6 pin connector with 3 wires coming out: dark green, light green, & purple. I am getting ready to hook up a JVC KD-R900 & the SWI-JACK steering wheel control. I have the majority of the JVC'* wires soldered to the harness already. Im not sure what the PLT stand for on the 20 pin connector or what the dark green, light green, & purple wires in that seperate connection are. I do believe the light green wire may be for the SWI-JACK but like I said I'm not sure. I'm thinking you had a similar factory radio set up. If you Judd Sandage or anyone else has figured this out could you please send me a post? Thankyou...WellOfSouls
