Default Monsoon system

Has anyone that has a bonneville with the monsoon system, heard a monsoon system in a grand am gt before?? I can personally say the manufacture put more time in that monsoon system then in the bonneville one. Number one it has more bass, #2 the front speakers are of better quality and will not distort or pop/crackle, #3 you can put full bass to the system and the system just plays sweet tunes without loosing bass. the rear speakers hit so hard it is incredible, I cant believe it. so I dont know what the deal is. the bonneville cost a lot more then a grand am, why cheat the buyers on shi!!y amps and speakers.

I agree with the better bass comment, but disagree with the fronts. The Grand Am uses dual voice coil 6x9s and 4x6 plus satallite tweeters. The 6.5" components in the front of the Bonnies to me sound better, but come nowhere close to the bass of the Grand Spams.

Do your front components pop and crackle if you go over 0 on the bass? My front 6.5'* do that and sometimes the rears also. I am not sure if an amp problem or a speaker problem. The vehicle has had 3 had unit replacements already. but the amp has never been replaced or speakers.

Well there is nothing left of the stock audio system in my car, but I did have the front left speaker replaced under warrenty due to crackling. From what I remember, my stock system would clip under medium volume with the bass around 3. The Monsoon amp is responsible for all of the crossover duties, which makes me wonder if the slope started at too low of a frequency. I think its just poor design all around to be honest.
