Default Bose/No Bose

So, usually when I've been in/seen cars with Bose factory audio, I've still seen little Bose emblems all over the car.

Am I to take from my Bose logo-less interior that I have the "Monsoon" system w/o Bose speakers/amps(*)/whatever?

May be a dead horse topic, but 84 pages is a lot to sort thru.

I'm not positive, Toasty would know better and he'll chime in soon enough. I don't think it'* Monsoon... might be standard Delco..

Till someone else chimes in given that it is a SSEi I don't see how it could be the standard delco system. Is there a seprate amp under your rear deck or under the dash behind the center console like my SSEi has?

I believe it was 01 or 02 that the Bonneville SSEi dropped BOSE for Monsoon.
If you do a search WAY back, there is a post that says which year exactly was the first for the Monsoon system.

If it is a Bose, it will say on the display when the radio is turned on(given display lights aren't burned out),my car doesn't have Bose written on anything . I would guess it would be the same if it'* a monsoon. Or option 3 your car didn't come with the premium radio pakage. It'* my understanding Some '02/'03 SSEis' dont have HUDs' so they also may not all have the better radio.

Yeah, that'* the thing that had me confused. It reads Monsoon on the display upon power-on, but I don't see Bose logo one anywhere in the cabin. I couldn't find an amp anywhere in the trunk, either, which pleased me, because I really didn't want to hack apart a bose system to repair/replace components.

Basically, until I get a chance to swap out all of the speakers, I wanna high-pass 'em. And, I wanna run my amp off of my rear speakers, as well as integrate my iPod.

I'm betting that the suspicions are correct, though, that it'* a Delco deck. For whatever reason, it says Monsoon on boot, but who knows wtf that really means.

You have the monsoon system most likely if it says monsoon. The amp would be behind the back seat in the trunk, under the plastic pannel. also look on the bottom of the speakers in the trunk they will tell you bose/monsoon. I dont know about the monsoon system but the Bose is hard to find speakers for becuase it is a 2ohm system. I rember seeing a few topics on installing an I-pod but they were all jus brainstorming, I dont know if somone actually did it though. There are harness adapters for the 2k cars if you go for an aftermarket HU but I think you will loose things like HUD, alarm, and onstar to name a few, I am sure there is more than those three though. A few of the 2k cars here have opted for infinitys basslink(self contained amp+sub unit) seems like it would be a really easy install, and you get to keep the goodies that youy paid for.
