Default radio cuts out

the radio in my 88 bonne likes to make like a snapping noise then cuts out no sound then if u hit any button it comes back on, the system sounds excellent when working so wondering if this is a speaker short or the radio is just going bad and time to get a cd player installed, also we had unplugged the battery for a diff issue and now on the radio it says LOC and is like frozen how do we fix this issue,, tyvm all

Well if it says loc then you're screwed if you don't know the code. There are many places that will give you the code for a nominal charge. As far as the radio cutting out that probably is in fact the radio.
