Radio recpetion is bad broken antenna
Last night my radio reception on my Grand prix was really bad. Sure enough I go to mess with the cable by the power antenna and it'* broken.
Does anyone know if you can splice new ends onto a antenna cable?
This cable is broken.
The part I circled i believe the cable is not supposed to come out of, but it did. Anyone have some advice for me?

That I believe, is a cheap Motorola crimp connector. The part that the coax goes into, should also pull out. You may be able to remove that part and cut 1/2" off the coax and redo it.

Sorry, what is a coax? I haven't messed around with audio stuff to much before.
If your referring to the metal peice that is still connected that I cricled, yes that does come out. I still need to get a new end and splice it on?

Sorry, coax is the black cable that you were holding in your left hand. You may be able to reuse the part of the connector that you can remove, but I'm not sure, cause it is hard to tell the condition of it in the picture. RadioShack might have a new connector for you.

I got a new end today. Looked up a couple videos on how to splice a coax end on a cable and everything went good. I now have better radio reception that I ever had in that car.

Atta boy!!! I never thought to search on Youtube for coax/connector videos. If you remember the link to that video, post it here so others can reference it also.
