im onto rock/metal....

my buddy i ride to schoolw ith everyday plays only rap and hes got a kenwood deck and two kenwood 6x9s. its got a nice bump feel to it.. very bassy.

a couple days ago i had him put in one of my CDs to see what it would sound like.... :( it was really lame.

what do i have to get to play metal with nice bass and nice treble too for the guitars?

mostly just depends on how you have your EQ set up on your cd player.

I listen to death/black metal an the likes an the stock deck dosent seam to bad for it for the most part, hes most likely got it tuned for his rap go into a place like at bestbuy an mess with the settings on there head units to see what they can do an so on might give you a bit more of an ideal of what to look for :?:

Turn the bass and mids up. Rock does not hit as hard as rap does to begin with. Most of the time at least.

Was the CD that you played in his system original or burned? And if burned, was it from MP3'*? If you play burned CD'* (from MP3'*), and if the MP3'* aren't best of quality, they will sound a little weird in a system that normally sounds good.

I've noticed this quite a bit, and so as a guideline, I tell people to rip their MP3'* at no less than 196k 44khz at not at a VBR (Variable Bit Rate). 128k MP3'* that come from the net can be touchy.

Recap: head units sound excellent with excellent music sources. So if it doesn't sound up to par with other music you've played, make sure the source is high quality, and when burning CD'*, try to copy them from the original (or if you're burning an MP3 CD, rip the original CD at no less than 196k as stated above).

Most aftermarket HU'* are the same, whether $700 or $100. The toys are what really sets them apart.

Some use cheaper parts and circuits. DACs can also make a deck sound better.

I'd agree that most systems will sound the same. However, some are cheaper built, so it'* always a good idea to see if people have any complaints of certain brands/models. Other than that, it'* mostly features that differs between brands/models.
