Default radio loses volume

my car is equipped with steering wheel radio control. But lately when i got to make a right turn my cars volume goes down until is completely silent and the steering wheel controls dont work. it does this id say maybe every 3 out of 4 times i make a right turn. i am thinkin the wires are being wrapped up or something but why would it turn the radio compleltley down? thanks to all

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

I'm betting you have a worn wire shorting out in the column. Use the procedure in Techinfo for repairing the steering wheel controls to guide you through removing the airbag and controls.

Probably a one hour fix with a roll of tape.

Disconnect the radio controls fromt he head unit and see if that does it. Sounds like you guys are on the right track, but you'd be surprised what a bad ground can do as well.

I just wanted to say thanks for spelling "loses" correctly. A lotta people tend to be a little trigger happy with the letter 'o' in that word.
