performance sound option
A friend of mine I work with has a 91 Bonneville SE. It has the performance sound option. I know very little about it. He is wanting to replace the speaker in the door. It has two sets in each door. I believe the one set is 3 1/2'*. Has anyone got any info on this. Are they factory or no. Are they 3 1/2'* or no.
Any info would be appreciated.

The Speakers at the top of the door are Tweeters..
The Speakers behind the Grille are 5.25... But I believe the 5.25 only produce the Mid and Low notes and the Tweeter finishes off the High notes..
He could also add the 4x6 or the Plate with the 4" & Tweeter to the Dash, but it may unbalance the sound quality of the system..

The performance sound has separate tweeters for the front speakers, and an amp and special speakers in the back deck. You can just switch the 5 1/4 speakers in each door. YOu can leave the tweeters hooked up but they might make the speakers sound too treble-y. Try it and see what happens.
