2003 Pontiac SSEI HU Problem
Alright, so i've been sifting through this forum and another bonneville forum for the answer to my problem but no one seems to have one. I recently purchased a Kenwood KDC-MP 148U HU as well as the cheapest harness they make by Sosche. I wire everything up, color to color, but the HU won't turn on. It'* getting power because the CD player will eat and eject disks but the display won't turn on.
I took some advice and tried wiring the orange wire from the harness (display lights) to the red wire on the HU (ign) and the display will light up but there is no sound output. My father used to install car stereos for a living and even he is stumped. What is the problem? Any suggestions? I really want a new HU in my car that can work but it seems Pontiac pulled out all the stops to make this as difficult as possible...

Does the red wire have 12V when you turn the ignition on and no power when the key is turned off? What happens if you make a jumper from the yellow wire (12V Constant Power) to the red wire (IGN)?

I haven't tried the jumper yet. Ill post the results as soon as possible. And yes, the red is getting power when on ACC but the HU won't turn on or give any sound output.

So I found out that the amp isn't getting a signal to turn on and that'* why there is no sound output. On the HU there is a blue and white striped wire that I was told by Crutchfield support would send a signal to the amp to turn on. Unfortunately there is no corresponding wire in the harness. I was wondering what I could do. I really dont want to wire around the amp because I heard its a pain in the *** to deal with since all the crossovers are internal. Any advice?
