Default OMG WTF is wrong!?!?

ok i have 2 infinity 12.1 perfects and im runnin 2 rockford fosgate 350s powers (an amp for each sub) ok i wired everything and the thing distorts like crazy i believe its cuz i tapped off of the 6x9'* and ran a rca cord from it to plug into my amps. i have a stock head unit so yah there are no outputs so i thought that was the logical thing to do. is there anyway i can fix or ne way i can run the rca from somethin else so i wont have this problem. (i have tested my amps and subs to make sure they were ok too) any suggestions would be very helpful .

First off, I am not an audio guru my any means, but this sounds like an issue I had in one of my past cars.

How are you converting the line to RCA? Are you trying to do a direct wire from the line to the RCA? Simple Line - RCA converter? or are you useing an adjustable Line - RCA converter? The problem I had is that the power going into the RCA cable was too much for the amp to handle. RCA cables run on alot less power than what is comming out of the deck.

just my thoughts...

i just tapped off of the 6x9'* by sodering an rca cord directly into the speaker so its basically pulling all of the power that is sent to the 6x9'* and sending it thru the rca do i need a converter or somethin?

You should use a LINE ->RCA converter (adjustable gain highly recommended). You can pick it up for cheap at most local electronic stores. You are probably sending to much power to the input side of the amp. And if this doesn't solve your problem you will only be out a few bux.

yup. You need an Line OutPut converter. That will end up frying your amp. It converts speaker wires to a RCA signal.

this might help...
from what i treid to figure out from reaidng a jensen amplifier bookelt...there should be a high level input hookup....and you plug the wire in...you put a + wire to the right speakers positive wire...the - to the left negative wire...a ground that goes where you ground yoru stuff...and a power wire which you run in with your deck...this might just be for jensen amps...im not sure...i cant remember if my rockford has it...let me know if this helps or not...
