Yeah something... Haven't fully decided yet if we're going to make a fiberglass trim piece or rip it out and trim the wires. Although the unit it about half an inch deeper then the factory hole (chopped up) it'* going to come out next week and we'll go from there. I wanted it in for ONBF and not looking to jerry rigged which it doesn't but it'* not 100% yet.

thats a nice one...the ipod interface is great on it, i really need to get a new one, i think im gonna save up for the harddrive one. Just don't get pulled over for watching dvds while driving, I have gotten a warning ticket for not watching tv while driving, I had my sun visors turned to the side and he said that I could have been watching them...police are crazy where I live. Looks good and i'm sure you will have tons of fun with it.

I love it, I have a panasonic dvd player and got it to fit like stockish, since your at ONBF, i'll show you... When you get that new trim, it will set the car off.... I love how the dvd players take up that whole 2 din, always looks smooth

From looking at the pictures included in your post, it looks like you used the mounting cage it came with... If you did... don't.
Get a set of GM double din ISO brakets, American International makes a part no, GM-K422 that does just exactly that. The brackets will mount to the side of the monitor'* chassis and will align to the holes in the dash where metal clips and screws could be used to secure the unit to the dash, The factory dash bezel should fit over it nicely and it would not look so awkward from sitting out too far as it seems from the pics.

All the mounting hardware was Removed. The only thing holding it in is the dash piece. Problem is depth the AVN 5500 is about 1/4 inch to deep for the dash. but I'm going to make a glass ring to fill it in all nice.

Making a fiberglass trim seems like more work than cutting out the rear plastic wall and ISO mounting it, but that choice is certainly up to you. Its a great HU, enjoy it.
