Big 3 upgrade....i need someone that has pwr cable tho
What gauge are you going with on the big 3? You will need new terminals for your wiring connections to the block, body and batt. if your going with heavier gauge.

I used 2 gauge on my now deceased 90 Eclipse.

2ga is a bit excessive. He will probably go 4ga. And he'* not an audio noob, he knows what he needs.

Im a forum noob, and im just getting to know you guys. Just offering up anything that may be helpful

I went with 2 gauge because I was told it would offer better current flow. I was pushing around 2500 watts through 0 gauge from the batt to the amps off a 1.8 4 CYL. I just wanted to make sure the current flow was there.

See that? It looked so professional, I thought you had it done somewhere. I didnt know. You learn new things everyday!!

LOVE the Rockford!!

I will soon be running my BD1000 to a 12" punch HX2 in a 2 +/- cube slot ported box at 2 Ohm and my 851X to some Polk DB 6x9'* in the rear and some Polk DB 6.5 Comps up front if I can figure out how to get them in the 5 1/4 - 1/2 ? mounts. Might have to Fabric8.

All this pulled from my deceased 90 Eclipse. I almost went competition with my complete setup which was 2 12" Punch HX2'* and my other Rockford amp. It was a 1001BD which of course you know was the year after the BD1000 I never needed to upgrade. It simply Pounds, but im not sure how its going to sound in the trunk of my SSEi. i might have to cut into the cabint where the armrest comes down

Sorry about rambling on and taking this off topic, but I got Excited!! heehee.

EDIT: P.*. Maybe you can help me with the mounting of my 1001BD and my 851X? And yes I was cutting 3/4" MDF in my livingroom because the Condo Assoc SUCKED and was on my A$$ for EVERYTHING!! LOL

I just checked out your car domain page. Very Impressive!! Below you will find a pic of all the gear I had at one point in my car, but as I started to tweak things here and there I changed/got rid of some things.

Anyways I'm Still a maybe at this point for NEBF but heres my list:

line trunk with dynomat 10
mount amps on trunk lid 8
install 6.5 comps in front door 8
install 6X9'* in rear deck 5

Hey 1993SLE, do you have heat or ratlle problems with the amps mounted on your trunk lid? What materials will I need to bring to make the mounts if they can even be made over a day or so?

nice RF list yourself

i have to say that i would recommend Peel and Seal instead of Dynamat....i have like 120+ sq ft of it in my car, and is WAY cheaper that Dynamat.

on the decklid mounting....i specifically bought my amps for the reason to mount them on the decklid....the Type RF can be mounted in any direction...they have a special internall cooling fan and heat dispersion...

check your owners manual to see how thoes amps can me mounted...i dont remeber if they can go upside down or not..

I made my mounts for the amps out of 3/4" thick steel brackets....ya they are strong...they are mounted to the frame of the trunk lid so they are solid

Thanks. It took a while for some research and to get everything together, but I was happy in the end.

Cheaper sounds good to me!!

Yeah my RF amps dont mount up like yours do. They have those little tabs that are open ended, and not completely solid. Wherever I do end up mounting them, I would like to keep them together like in the pic since it looks nice that way. The 851X is bigger than the 1001BD and it wouldnt look even if I seperated them.

i dont remeber if they can go upside down or not.
Almost any amp can be mounted upside down, you just have to take care of the heat dissipation. lol

Lucky you have fans that already come with the amps, hence why i think you chose them.

I had another Idea, but I need to get some more MDF and some brakets myself. Hmmmmm
