Yep, tried pushing them a bit harder today to find their limit. Didn't take very long before I found their limit. No distortion, but I could hear one of the subs start clasping very slightly so I quickly backed down the volume and adjusted gain and head unit accordingly.

I never really read up on how to figure this stuff out, so what I did was play one specific song that had the same bass notes, then slowly turned up the volume one number at a time, went back to the trunk and listened closely, then turned it up again and repeated until I started hearing it bottom out. I ran to my car, turned down the volume, and that'* how I figured out what the limit is.

In any case, they sound GREAT!

And I got some pictures of my **** box for you.

looks great! Good job X. You asked questions, got answers, researched, asked more questions then you went out and did it. And Succeeded, with desirable results.
This is what we need to see more of... Not those high school kids that got 2 15" Xplods in their trunk and think they are Car Audio enthusiasts.

Job Well Done X

Thanks. While I didn't research much on how to figure out what the limit is, I knew I was overpowering these subs by 2x what they can take so I had to adjust the amp accordingly, so I took it easy to make sure I didn't damage the subs.

Lol @ xplod subs. Drill a hole in the center and they'd make great portable toilet seats.

I've been trying to avoid this, but I really have no choice. I'm driving to California in January with two other people in the car plus luggage and I can't afford to have anything touching these subs.

I agree.

Plus, I'm going with the black look here, lol. Those would throw it all off. Plus, that'* $27 for one grille. The other ones are priced as a pair. Kind of a big deal...
