Default UP3 and Bose???

Does anyone know if it is OK to put a UP3 with the equalizer in a '99 with the Bose system? Don't want to burn anything up.

Thanks!

UP3 is the RPO code for the non-EQ radio.
My brother sold a EQ unit to a guy who put it in his BOSE equipped Bonneville. Supposedly no problems. Shouldn't hurt to hook it up. My question is whether you get sound or not.
