The title pretty much sums it up. Can I make a 2 din deck fit in my car? Without hacking up the front bezel.

im not completly sure about this but im thinking n, you would need some extra space on the top and/or bottom for one to fit. i looked on crutchfield.com to check it out and says there isnt one for your car so thats what i went off. im not even sure that if you were to mod your trim peice it would help cuz of the DD HUs bein twice the height of a standard size HU. i like the DD dvd players and wish they did fit though.

I think it will fit in the opening for sure. I think that the problem is the bezel itself. The corners of it are rounded and of course the corners of a double din radio arent. The factory radio is a double din but recesses behind the bezel. You will have to clean the corners up but it shouldnt be too painful honestly. Call a local junk yard and ask for a bezel and hack it up. This way, if you ever want to change it in any way in the future you will still have your origional one in perfect condition

Shouldn't be a problem. Check out your local independent stereo shop and ask about what kits they have. They should either have Scosche/Metra or Best Kits (AAMP). A new kit is what is needed to retain a somewhat factory look to the plastic. the model numbers for Best Kits(AAMP/Stinger) is BKGMK422 and the harness is BHA2001R. There may be another or different harness depending on the HU brand you are looking at. As for retail couldn't say but no more than $50 for the kit and about the same for the harness at the absolute top end. Should be less though. See the attached pic. This is the Install kit with side brackets.

I seen a pic of a guy'* b'ville that had an alpine 1 din deck and 1 din eq together, and if I did the math right, by god that'* double din lol.

I've been pondering the thought of a double din dvd but was worried about spending X amount and the end result being not able to use it because of some dumb thing that I didn't take into consideration.

My two cents would be go with Kenwood. Alpine is nice but with the Parrot Bluetooth in them Kenwood is very very nice. Also consider this most HU'* will prevent you from viewing a dvd while driving. There are two ways to get that solved. 1. Have the shop wire around this when installing (usually sign a waiver) or 2. There are VIM(Video in Motion) products out there so I would check with your local shop to see about the options you have with either brand. And Alpine I believe has Parrot built in too, but Kenwood is my personal favorite.

I would personally go with eclipse but it is sooooo expensive. My second suggestions are pioneer or panasonic. But I dont think you'd be dissappointed with Kenwood or Alpine either. Just make sure that you get line drivers installed if you plan on adding amps. It will be one of the best investments for your audio system..
