I don't wanna burst anyone'* bubble but Bose isn't really high end. Anywhere! THey use paper cones in their drivers, generally in plastic enclosures. In the audio world they are the BANE and you can pick apart the guys who buy things just to be cool. Ask any hifi audio forum what they think abuot bose and theywill show you things that cost 1/2 the price and sound 10x better.... I've taken complete idiots to best buy, played the $900 Towers by bose, then played $50 bookshelves from KLH. They could hear the difference. I am a Hi-Fi crazy person (maybe an audiophile) and it'* all just marketing, and BS. "Lifestyle" just proves it. Also their idea of direct/reflecting has HUGE problems. It causes different sounds to reach later then the normal radiating sounds and it gets really muddy.. Oh i'll stop now this is already too big..

Actually their car systems are pretty good. Neither of these systems are great for upgrading though. They both use non-standard amps, and have very weird outputs for power (resistance is very off the normal 4ohm car fi standard). They are great, and if you want high quality sound with oem looks they are the best. You can sometimes buy new speakers, but you pretty much have to keep it as a group. Jim'* aurora is a perfect example, it has everything you would need so he don't have to do chit to it (lucky bastid). I wish i woulda had the gain control/amped speakers in my bonnie but i got a new head unit anyways, and it woulda been pulled quicker then i thought.
