Default Replacement Speakers

I'm planning on replacing the front speakers in the 95 SSEi. From what I understand they are 5.25 component speakers.

I have 2 - 10'* in the car so speakers with alot of bass are not my main concern, I just want a pretty overall decent set of speakers, without spending too much on them.

Anyone have any reccommendations for a good set? I'm planning on buying these off of eBay.

Thanks guys,

Mick

Are your front and rear speakers powered by an aftermarket amp? What is your spending limit for new speakers?

No they are just powered by the stock amp. I'd like to spend about 100$ on these speakers off of eBay.

Would either of these be a good set?

I bought a new set of 130wt Infinity Reference 5.25'* off of ebay for $38 shipped. They sound great!! And I dont even have an amp hooked up to the speakers. Eventually, I will replace my Pioneer 6x9'* in the rear with Infinitys too. I love the clarity of their speakers.

I don't know if I'm too late, but those MB Quart speakers are awesome. You don't actually need component speakers, but that is a great choice. I'm all for that choice. The Phoenix I actually haven't heard of, but you can try them if you're aiming for above stock. Most speakers, even some $17 pawn shop speakers I bought a while ago, sound better than stock. In fact, those replaced 97 SSEi Bose speakers.

I use the next step up from the previous poster, the Infinity Kappa 5.25" speakers. They're amazing. But if I had to do it all over again, especially since I've seen that MB Quart price, I'd go for that 100%.
