yah sound deadening and foam doesnt stop it.............and with yours it wont even come close to stopping it cuz the speakers are mounted in the door skins and are not supported very well for yours id definately build it into the frame of the door cuz they are huge and if you run them at 180 a piece haha yah ur door skin will be done.

They might be made by the same build house as image dynamics but ben actually designs the subs. i might go with the cdts though because they sound like a better deal. Think they would be any better than the kodas.? what kind of air space do the cdts need to get decent lower midrange response?

straight from the man, himself. this guy is a pro

ForeverSilent004: hey kepone
zaunallah: hi who is this
ForeverSilent004: bastard kid kris
ForeverSilent004: i just bought a hd-62 set
ForeverSilent004: got it yesterday
zaunallah: ok cool, good set
ForeverSilent004: cuz your review was good
zaunallah: cool, yeah i really liked those
ForeverSilent004: you only had 100w going to them?
zaunallah: had them in 2001 i think?
zaunallah: yeah i had as little as 75 and as much as 150 on them
ForeverSilent004: oh, that long ago
ForeverSilent004: ah
ForeverSilent004: im gonna put a PG xenon 200.2 on them
zaunallah: yeah they love power
ForeverSilent004: sweet deal
zaunallah: just be careful with the gains
ForeverSilent004: oh yea, deff
ForeverSilent004: what did you have them high passed at?
zaunallah: i found them best at 63hz
ForeverSilent004: ok, cool
zaunallah: but depending on your install
ForeverSilent004: yea
zaunallah: you may not want to go that low
zaunallah: maybe 80
ForeverSilent004: ill play with it
zaunallah: you need to definitely deaden the hell out of wherever you mount them to
ForeverSilent004: i have a p860
ForeverSilent004: lol, yea
ForeverSilent004: i plan to
zaunallah: if you dont deaden, youll have midbass issues
zaunallah: you may as well seal up the doors while you are deadening
zaunallah: everyone that says they have midbass issues with these speakers
zaunallah: is install related
zaunallah: these speakers move a lot.. they need to be solidly mounted
ForeverSilent004: yea, im gonna go to town on my bonneville doors
zaunallah: so deadened, and on baffles
ForeverSilent004: thats what i like to hear
zaunallah: seal up the doors well for optimal midbass response
ForeverSilent004: will do
zaunallah: depending on your listening tastes, you might find the tweeter a bit mild.. if you find that, replace them with LPG tweeters from www.solen.ca, specifically the LPG 25FA, cheap upgrade, and works great.. i loved the cdt tweeter though, not the most detailed thing out there, but it had a very nice and laid back overall presentation, worked great for acoustic music
ForeverSilent004: did you bump up the setting on the x-over?
ForeverSilent004: attenuation
zaunallah: i personally had no problems with the cdt tweeter
zaunallah: but some people think they are too laid back
zaunallah: i happen to like that about them
ForeverSilent004: yea, i might too
zaunallah: i just kind of wish they were more detailed.. the LPG is a perfect match.. theyre cheap at like 30 bucks each, and blend perfectly with cdt'*
