Default subs-which direction?

I may get some subs soon(at least 12" but i want 15")..not sure if i'll build a box or buy one..but which direction should i point them in?...forwards or to the rear?..I had an '89 Celebrity about 10 years ago with 2-15'* and I pointed them forwards...alot of people commented that they could hear me coming but once I passed it was silent..any ideas?..i am assuming the Bonnie will sound a bit different since it has the ski hole.

subs are supposed to be faced towards the back of the car for the best imaging.

edit: and you are only happy with your system until you realize how much better it could be.

I am at about 1000 for my system, new subs, 6x9'*, boxes, and probably another amp are in order.

The total you spent on a system has nothing to do with knowledge or experience.
