Default Key fobs

Are all GM key fobs created equal? My wife'* 99 Jimmy looks almost identical to my 01 Bonne fob. In order to tell them apart I'd like to get an 01 GP fob. They shaped a little different. Nobody really makes universal fob that would control more than one vehicle, do they?
