amp and sub question
Ok ive got my new amp hooked up to my dual 4 ohms subs running at 2 ohms. It works fine and everything, doesnt cut out and sounds pretty good. The amp is a crunch ground pounder GPV1000.2 and the subs are 12" 600 RMS 1200 max soundstorm stealths. The amp is pushin 500 per channel at 2ohms and the manual says that its stable down to 2ohms. I was just wondering if running the amp at full power would shorten the life of it or the subs. I was also wondering if there was a way i could mount my amp where i would get 360 degree air circulation?

I'm going to assume 500 watts is the max power per channel? if you playing them at 600 watts even a little higher RMS they will be ok, when you will have issues is if you play them above 1200 watts
as for the amp, unless you build a floating amp rack that has 2 slim pieces to hold the amp you won't have full air circ.

IMO the heatsinks on the ap should be able to do their job as long as its not covered up. as for running it "full power" are you talking about setting the gains? if so i wouldnt suggest turing the gain up very very far while the volume on your HU is up high too cuz it causes distortion that kills subs. the distortion, or clipped signal is a " dirty" signal that can heat up the subs voice coils to the point of failure. ha dont get me wrong and be worried about blowing your subs just be a lil carefull when setting it up. if you have an o scope that can be used to set gains to avoid clipping but not many people have one. ther is also a way to set gains using a DMM too. but if no tools just use your ears and listen for the speakers to get funny sounding(not a good sound lol) while your setting the gains. have your HUs volume is about 2/3s up and set your bass to 0, then your good to set the gains. ive had pretty good outcome this way when a o scope or DMM is not an option.
