Default jensen in-dash DVD

http://www.crutchfield.com/*-6L16viR...0&I=110VM9311T

Hey everyone, I just got some birthday money and being a teenager, i really really want to blow it all on one thing, and im thinking this would be great. my only worry is that warning down on the bottom, do you guys really think it would be that complicated? ive heard of installation kits on this website that would make it so i wouldent have to do any rewiring and stuff like that.

so whats your opinion?
(on anything, is it a waste of money? to hard to install? any other suggestions for a in dash dvd player?)

thank you!

EDIT(heres the warning for the bonneville)

Installation Details for your 2000 Bonneville

» You will need to fabricate a mounting kit in order to install your new receiver.
» A wiring harness is not available. You will need to splice into the factory wires.
» You will have to install new speaker wires, run power leads from the receiver to the fuse box, and ground the receiver to the chassis of the vehicle.
» If your vehicle has the OnStar system, the voice prompts will be lost if the factory radio is replaced.
» You'll get free lifetime tech support for as long as you own your gear!

first i woulnd't recommend a Jensen....but that is just me, and i dont like the flip up units personally, some do i dont.....i have a HU that playes DVD'* but needs a external screen to play them. I feel as the constant opening and closing of the unit makes it fail very quickly and that is personal experience

now to address crutchfields "advice"

there is a mounting face plate available for the 00+
a wiring harness IS available
no new wires are needed or speakers to make the unit work

so in the end it can be done, the product choice is what i question tho

Only way I'd buy that is if it had GPS in it or at least a reliable capability for it.

Yeah I was also curious as to the durability, anything with moving parts scares me like that. I'm not sure, I think an external screen would be hard to find room for, yet still look nice. I'm definitely going to take that point into consideration though.

Now this Jensen issue, is that because of past experiences? The only reason I’m looking at this brand is because it sounded familiar to me, i have no loyalties to this actual product, is there any other brand you would recommend?

man there are a ton of good HU'* out there

kenwood, alpine, i presonally roll with rockford fosgate (by no means is that the best JMO)

take a look around, you need to FIRST determine what you want in a HU THEN start looking, for the features, Finally I would select a brand

Is that a touch screen set up? Is that how everything is controlled?

As for Jensen'* quality....You get what you pay for.
