Which head unit should I get?

Default Which head unit should I get?

I'm wanting to replace the stock head unit in my '04. I've looked at Pioneer, Sony, and Dual. But from what I've seen on some of the other threads, Duals are crap. I had a Pioneer in my truck and really liked it, but I don't know what to do for the Bonnie. My budget for that is around $200. Which way should I go?

Also, I want to replace the factory speakers in the door and in the back. I want something that has a little kick to it, but for fairly cheap. Should I just keep the stocks and get some subs for the trunk? And if I replace the stocks, which brand should I get?

pioneer is the way to go out of the choices given...if you replace your speakers, infinity and polk are good for the price.

I'm getting a Pioneer DEHP3900-MP installed today.

I had no idea that the wiring harness for these cars was so expensive. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting it. Thanks for your input and advice. Eventually I'll put in some Infinity speakers. Thanks again.

Make sure that you keep in mind that most aftermarket speakers have a lower sensitivity then stock speakers. This means basically that the stock speakers, driven with 22 watts RMS power will sound louder then aftermarket speakers with the same power.

While the aftermarket speakers will definatly sound better, they will probably be slightly quieter then factory, but this can be solved with an amp.

In my '93 I have stock front speakers and Infinity Kappa 6X9s in the back. There was quite a drop in volume going from the stock to the Infinity speakers in the back. Not a difference that would make me change them back, but noticable.

go with a pioneer head unit and some infinity speakers, which model of speakers and deck depends upon your budget.

Sounds like the headunit is already installed.

The reason on the adapter being expensive is you have a serial data buss system. Behind your radio is a connector that is called a finger board (basically) it'* not the old style plug in connectors.
