So... according to "research"...

The rear doors are 4 ohm, front tweeters are 4 ohm, front door and rear deck, 2 ohm.

Can anyone confirm this?

And if I find the matching ohm speakers - I should be good to go?!

Let me know.

Thanks!!!

Oh, forget it, lol...

A helpful guy at Crutchfield did some research and found out that the Ohm ratings of the various speakers is all wacked-out...

Front tweeters - 4.0
Front doors - 2.2
Rear doors - 2.2
Rear deck - 2.5

I think I will just order stock replacements...

If your going to order replacements, you might as well get better ones that are compatible with the Monshit I mean Monsoon amplifier.

exactly as i said. and even if you did find aftermarket speakers that were the right ohm value they wouldnt sound good because they are not powered like they are supposed to be, the amp puts out less than a good aftermarket hu. i have had a ton of the gm, uplevel audio cars and have always replaced them, the hu is the biggest let down in the system, followed by the factory amp. if i was replacing things that would be my order, but having had a ton of aftermarket setups i can tell you like i said earlier the next step from stock would be that clarion unit, with some decent 6x9'* and 6.5'* bypassing the amp, maybe 300 bucks. next best would be some polk db'* with an aftermarket amp.

I wish I could!

Infinity is the only car speaker company that makes a 2 ohm speaker - the Kappa (and, of course, their most expensive).

However, the Kappa will NOT fit in both the front door and rear door - it will fit in the rear deck.

So there are no speaker replacement alternatives.

LOL, I would, but I plan on selling it next year and getting a new 2015 Chevy Impala 2LTZ or similar...

I have a blown rear deck 6x9 and days after, a blown rear door 5.25 - so thought since I need to replace them - might as well upgrade the speakers all around...

But, alas, not to be!

I think I may have found it!!!

Polk MM series.

Car Speakers and Systems | Polk AudioŽ

They are rated at 2.7 ohms, and have an efficiency of 94 dB.

I think that is about as close to the factory specs of:

Front door: 2.2 ohms
Rear door: 2.2. ohms
Rear deck: 2.4 ohms

According to Polk:

High efficiency design means less amplifier power is needed for more audio output. While a separate amp is recommended on full range models for the ultimate in performance, MM loudspeakers will sound wonderful when driven by aftermarket head units or factory installed electronics.

What do you think?!
