my opinion...since your lookin for the best....
I would go to a circuit city, best buy, tweeter
or a good local stereo shop.

Bring some of your favorite cd'* and try them out.
Everyone'* ears are different and everyone likes different tones.

I know some ppl say my system is to Bright....others don't think so...
all a matter of taste!

Infinity'* are known for being on the bright side....
Don't know about Rockford Fosgate speakers.....

Goood luck!

Its got to be what you like to hear....
I went shopping for speakers with a buddy before...we couldn't agree
both out tastes were different...lol

I have kenwoods front and rear and am very pleased with them...
The rears have alot of bass too...and they are 4 ways so i get good highs too...
the fronts are 5 1/4 components....which also sound pretty good...I am not totally pleased .....but am satisfied for now

I'd avoid the bigger stores, look at all the smaller ones, the higher end ones. Their cheap stuff is better then the big boys. The listening environments are better too, not open to a 100,000 sq ft building....

In the end bring your own music, and buy what sounds the best for it. Speakers aren't very critical about power ratings and such, but if you get components for the front, they'll be much better with an amp.

The first thing i wanted to do audio was deck, then go 4 way amp with new speakers.

I got subs for a good deal from a member here, and with flat bass out of the deck, the stock speakers are still good. People don't believe me at first.

Setup is more important

If, for the time being, you are going to run the stock head unit be sure you get a speaker which is at least 90db or higher in sensitivity. Without going too technical the factory head unit doesn't have a lot of power so you want a speaker that is very sensitive.

I went with a 6x9 speaker that was 92db sensitive and a front speaker that was 91db sensitive. Rockford Fosgate makes some great speakers but they are not known for having sensitive speakers (most models I looked at were 87/88db), which would not work well with the factory headunit. They'd work, but you wouldn't get a lot of volume from them.

Default Infinty or rockford

I own both infinity kappa perk'* 5-1/4'* and rockford'* fanatic Q 5-1/4'*(older model) and from my listening experience they both have their pro'* and cons.I find the infinty'* produce nice clear high'* with weak midbass and are little brighter than the rockfords. The rockfords on the other hand have a better midbass response and the high'* where ok, for a 5-1/4 the rockford'* midbass was pretty impresive. All depends on the type of music you listen too(live instrements classical jazzy stuff, infinty'*)(for Rap ,rock i'd go rockford thats if these are the components you are wanting to go with!,Ive also owned kicker resolutions 6-1/2'* they had nice soft high'* and wicked midbass ,but the mid driver was a little bigger .Dont forget to deaden your doors for better sound

my type r'* are pretty good... i'd say go to a circuit city or best buy because they'll back their work up, or at least they always have for me for the past six years...
