Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Im asking you for advice! LOL

The problem would be that you'd be putting a band-aid on something that needs stitches. If your lights are dimming then it'* because your electrical system can't handle the load it'* being put under. Adding a cap to an overworked electrical system might help a little at first but because it too needs to be charged by the alternator it'* essentially another draw to the system. Seems counterproductive to me

I do notice slight dimming sometimes, and my battery is less than 3 months old, my alternator was tested twice, and my wires are thick enough for my system.. So I dunno
I'm only running a W7, so I don't think it should be that bad

You ran new wiring from the alternator? How big? I know for a fact Bonneville'* electrical wiring is terrible.

That W7 is a 1000W RMS sub. Not sure what amp you're running, but lets take this example. Assuming 14V, you'd be drawing 71 amps of power from the alternator, battery, and wiring, on top of what the rest of the car is pulling.

Took the Soundstream out of the trunk and hooked up the MA Audio at 4 ohms. pushing 750w rms. I could wire the sub to 1 ohm but leary about it. since the MA Audio is 1500-1800 rms (depending on volts) at 1 ohm. Suprisingly i have no headlight dimming, really suprised me, Im sure i will at one ohm tho and the it sounds cleaner but not sure if its much louder, I am thinking about trying it at 1 ohm.... but worried. I wouldnt use any bassboost of coarse.

You'll be fine. Hit it at 1 ohm and go for it. I ran an Alpine R12 at 900W @ 2 ohms RMS when it was only rated at 500W and it held up fine. Trust me, you'll know when you're hitting it too hard. It will start to get distorted.

there'* no way you could hear an spl difference by simply increasing the power by 150 watts, I promise you! Now grow a pair, set your gain with a dmm, and wire than amp down to 1ohm so you can see what that sub can really do!!
