Default Speaker repair

I have a nice set of 6x9'*--one speaker the foam is torn some. I know there'* a way to fix it w/some kind of epoxy or rubberized stuff. Anyone know what it is and where I can get it from? I'd hate to throw it out.:(

I've never heard of such a thing, and to be honest it will never sound the same. I've seen used 6x9s go for $5 or $10 for a pair on EBay, why not just pick a pair up??

How big is the tear? I would suggest using some sort of silicone based epoxy. Make sure it is very flexible. GOOP is no good. If the tear is not that big you may not notice much sound difference...

What kind of 6by9s are they? IF they are factory then you can replace them for about 1.50 for both of them from that link i gave you

If its a minor repair rubber cement will work but if its bigger than 1/2" tear I think the speaker will 'buzz' when you get into it?

Tape should work fine. You're really just trying to seal up the seal, as i bet the rest of the surround should still keep it up structurally sound.

Duct tape, or electrical tape will be fine.

You can find that rubber cement at any hardware store. I like Home Depot. It will be with the glues in the paint department
