Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum, but I'm sure I'll be a regular.

Here'* my first question: I own a 1992 Oldsmobile 98, and I want to upgrade the head unit. I really want to install a later model GM unit so it looks like it belongs, plus I'll get a cd player.

What I want to know is if a later model GM head unit will work with my steering wheel controls? Is there a certain wire or feature I need to look for, or will any late model GM unit work?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Any unit that came on vehicles with steering wheel controls would obviously have the support for controls but only for what controls it was designed for. Just look up a wiring diagram of the connector for any head units you look at and see how it could wire into yours.

id go with the buick stereo. it was used since like 95 or so, so it should have the same connector. (dont hold me to that) then, you can do my aux in mod and even have the 3.5mm jack for mp3'*! lol.
